Project Description
In Mauritania we have built and furnished several health centers.
For example in a city of 20.000 inhabitants in the Sahara. The health center contains a pharmacy, sickward, consulting room, waiting room for patients and a surgery. Shower and toilet are outside, but easy to reach. Family of patients can cook their meals, stay for the night and wait undera covered terrace.
This centre offers care for the city and for the (ex)slave villages nearby. A physician and nurse attend daily.
Cooperation with the larger hospital is very well managed. Patients who have been registered for cataract for example had surgery in a large city, but receive their follow up and checks here.
