We have the very sad news that Wiljo Woodi passed away on April 4th 2024. She had been ill for a long time, but she was able to continue her work in Africa until the very end. Even now, she had only been back from Africa for a few weeks and was already making new plans to go there. Her spirit was so great, but her body eventually had to give up. She had to let go of her great tasks on this earth.

We are all very sad and at the same time immensely grateful for what she achieved together with Demba and so many others. Many will wonder whether and how Silent Work Netherlands can be continued. As soon as more is known about this, you will be informed.

She wrote the following obituary herself:

I am dead

My life has been fascinating and full of love.
I have experienced life as a great gift,
I have lived life intensely
I enjoyed life,

25 warm years of joy and sorrow with Cor.
He was my husband, my support,
we shared a close, intensive love and friendship.

I love Demba,
through him I experienced real life again in all its glory
and in both worlds that are anchored in me, here and in Africa.

I thank all friends,
that I have met all over the world.
